Clerk's Office Early Voting Ends Monday, May 7
Time is running out to vote early in the May 2012 primary election. Expanded early voting hours continue this week - 8AM to 7PM, Monday through Friday. The Marion County Clerk's office will also be open this weekend - Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6 - from 10AM to 5PM. Early voting ends promptly at noon, Monday, May 7.
Marion County voters do not need a reason to vote early in the Clerk's office, but you will be asked for a valid photo ID issued by the state of Indiana or federal government. The office is located on the first floor of the west wing in the City-County Building. Use the Delaware Street entrance for easy access to the office.
Reimbursed parking is available at the pay lots on Alabama Street directly north and south of Market Street. You do have to pay the lot's fee, but it will be reimbursed upon exiting after presenting a voucher available in the Election Board office. Only two lots accept the vouchers, so please check with the lot attendant before paying to park to ensure your fee will be refunded to you.
Know where you go to vote!
In late 2011, Mayor Ballard redrew Marion County's precinct lines, which will affect where you go to vote on Election Day. After receiving his list of polling locations in early April, Election Board staff estimate about one in three Marion County voters will be voting in a new location this May.
Voters can find out their polling location in a few ways:
Look in your mailbox. The Board of Voters Registration, a separate office from the Election Board, is mailing postcards to all registered voters in Marion County with their updated information.
Call 327-VOTE (327-8683). You can speak to a staff person or use the automated polling place locator.
Use the online Voter Information Portal - indy.gov/VIP. After entering your address on the main search page, your polling location will appear along with photos and if you'd like, driving directions to the site. You can also confirm your voter registration and view a sample ballot.
Deadline to Return Vote-By-Mail ballots

It's too late to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you (the deadline was Monday, April 30). However, if you have a mail-in ballot on your kitchen table, be sure to complete it and return it in the postage-paid security envelope before 6PM on Election Day, Tuesday, May 8.
